The push for the use of probiotics came to the public media a few years ago and a lot of people felt it was another “fad” and trend. But here are the scientific facts that made me a believer.
- The health of your brain and cognition depends largely on a number of internal hormones like seratonin and melatonin. Both of these naturally produced hormones are key to a protected, fully functioning brain.
- Both melatonin and seratonin are also produced in the gut – the GI tract.
- The more healthy your gut, the better the production of both these essential chemicals.
There’s a number of other reasons why probiotics should be a priority for those looking to stay younger and healthier. I will be discussing these in future blogs.
